Parker Grant is the founder of Instructional Design Industry, an online community for learning designers, instructional designers, and many other learning professionals (new and experienced). Parker holds a PhD in Adult Learning and a MS in Educational Technology. His consulting firm, Learning Connects, continues to offer learning design and development services.
Tamara has been training, creating courses and managing teams for more than fifteen years. She is both an instructional designer and a Storyline/Captivate developer. Tamara holds an MA in Instructional Design and an MS in Management. Most recently she has been inspired by gamification, engaging thought leaders online in MOOCs, blogs and industry websites.
Stephanie is an artist and writer who stumbled into training and instructional design by way of a random 10-year stint in Human Resources. She has designed and developed training content for numerous industries including: direct selling, retail, mortgage and finance, health and fitness, software, hospitality and maritime. She has a postgraduate certificate in Distance Education from UMBC and is currently a freelance ID, creating synchronous and asynchronous training that she hopes is improving the superhuman abilities of learners everywhere.
Rebecca OGrady-Marshall is an eLearning Developer who comes from an education and curriculum development background. Having traveled and worked extensively in international schools throughout South East Asia, Rebecca aims to make online courses that are easily accessible to people across different backgrounds and cultures. Rebecca has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (Online), a Masters in Museum Studies and a black belt in Taekwondo.
Jay began his career as reporter and producer for the CBS television station in Philadelphia. From journalism, he turned to training development in film, which became video production, then multimedia production. He likes to say “they just keep changing the projector.” Today, he works as a freelance ID for the likes of Walmart, Comcast, the UN, Amtrak, Morgan Stanley and many others. But his passion for video remains a primary focus. He has an MA in Adult Education and Training and a BA in English Literature.
Andrea is currently the Training Coordinator for the Head Start program at Mt. Hood Community College in Portland, OR. She has spent most of her career in the non-profit sector in various roles organizing training events, creating curriculum, and facilitating in-person trainings. She will have her M.Ed in Adult and Organizational Learning from the University of Idaho in December and received her B.S. in Business from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Elise Greene Margol is the Director of Instructional Design at Accelerated Business Results. She has a wealth of experience in the learning arena that crosses over different industries and inside and outside learning departments. She has created numerous learning programs for client-facing audiences and has a knack for truly understanding their needs and delivering on them. Her greatest strengths are her attention to detail and the ability to take complex material and make it easy for learners to understand and apply to the issues that they are facing. Her learning programs are known for their real-world application and often include storyboards, leader and participant guides, leader slides, job aids, and other handouts. She has a Master of Science in Human Resource Development, Georgia State University; Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & Internal Studies, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
John is a Course / Class Instructional Designer and Distance Learning Trainer currently working through Northwest State Community College, Archbold, Ohio and presently assists several Fortune 500 Companies in their workforce development goals. He specializes in creating and conducting learning materials for vocational students and technical instructors for a wide range of delivery methods including Live-Interactive and Asynchronous. His greatest challenge involved developing training content on Compassion and Compassionate Behavior for use in K-12, Private Workforce, Higher Education, and Family Services.
Mr. Becker’s background includes experience in Instructional Design, Training Development, Assessment building and Project Management. He has worked in the Biotech, Pharmaceutical, Telecommunications, Financial Services, Manufacturing, and Broadcast industries. In addition, he has experience in Product Management, Marketing Communications, and Sales Management. Recently, Sandy has had projects in Instructional Design, curriculum development and online learning for a variety of organizations focusing on Leadership Development, Product, Sales, new hire and compliance training. Sandy has held roles in the Pharmaceutical and Telecom industries as Project Manager, Instructional Designer, Brand Manager and Sales Manager. Mr. Becker has been a presenter at a variety of trade shows, SHRM events, and industry conferences.
Fran has over 14+ years experience in training development and adult learning. She has worked as a lecturer in higher education and as a performance consultant in corporate training. She is a results driven instructional designer and performance consultant with in-depth experience designing training solutions end-to-end from needs assessments through design, implementation and evaluation. A team player effective at influencing stakeholders and collaborating with subject matter experts. She is successful at building competency based learning that influences behavior change, enhances performance and attains business objectives. Fran is an innovative thinker, skilled researcher, presenter and problem solver with a proven ability to apply instructional design systematically.
